What is IT?

As the Informational Technology (IT) Director it was very easy to go around the office all day talking about IT.  That is what your day was about.  It is about IT.  We use acronyms and sometime we forget others outside the computer field are not familiar with our techie language.

I recall working with someone in another department and we were having a conversations and I started talking about IT.  After a few minutes the person looked at me and said: What is IT?  At first, I thought he was talking about what was " it"  that I was talking about, when in fact he was asking what is IT.  It hit me that he was not familiar with the technical jargon!  

IT has not always been IT.  IT use to be  IS or information systems.  IT use to be computer information systems (CIS).  Now it is IT or Information Technology.  I wonder what IT will be next?   Any ideas?

Apple Laptop vs  ?

There is no better laptop to buy than an Apple Mac.  A Mac has not always been my computer of choice.  In fact, in my household only one person has an Apple laptop and they really like it.  

Looking for a good work, play, home computer.  Check out the one below.  Don't be afraid to try something new.  If it's in your budget, go take the leap and get yourself a good computer.    " Go like a Pro".
